The inimitable Mavis Staples is the latest artist to announce a solo Bluesfest Sideshow.

Staples’ trailblazing blend of gospel and blues has won her awards (including a Grammy for Best Americana Album in 2013) and plenty of accolades. Bob Dylan himself once said Staples’ performance “made my hair stand up”.

She has performed as part of her family’s band The Staple Singers, and in her solo career released singles such as ‘One True Vine’, ‘Love Gone Bad’ and ‘Tonight I Feel Like Dancing’.
