Much of the world is in mourning today following the death of Prince Philip who passed away yesterday morning. Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have posted a simple tribute to his late grandpa, but the lack of empathy in the message has raised some eyebrows.
Taking to their Archewell website, Meghan and Harry had it converted into just one page which reads, “In loving memory of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021. Thank you for your service… You will be greatly missed.”
The brief ten word message has been met with criticism on social media with users questioning where the compassion for Harry’s grandfather is.
“Their ice cold “thank you for your service” farewell to Prince Philip signals to me a detachment from his family which must lead tol Harry and Meghan giving up their titles or having them removed. PR advice galore and yet no affection. They really are pieces of work,” posted one user on social media.

“I am astonished at the lack of affection in the Harry and Meghan statement. It read; “Thank you for your service. You will be greatly missed.” He wasn’t a distant relative they hadn’t seen in years. Philip was his grandfather for God’s sake,” said another user.

Harry and Meghan’s “Thank you for your service. You will be greatly missed” just beat out “Cheers dude” as their tribute for Prince Phillip.

It’s quite something to compare Harry & Meghan and Donald Trumps messages about Prince Phillip side by side. pic.twitter.com/29y4cluAIa
