Big Little Lies was one of the biggest and best television success stories last year – a slow-burning drama starring some of Hollywood’s finest thespians.

Season two will be bolstered by the inclusion of the legendary Meryl Streep, who yesterday received an Oscar nod for Steven Spielberg’s The Post – her 21st nomination!

According to Variety, who broke the story, Streep “will play Mary Louise Wright, the mother of Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgård). Concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following her son Perry’s death, Mary Louise arrives in Monterey searching for answers.”

In case you hadn’t released that TV is where the money (and kudos) is these days, Streep will earn $800K an episode. Worth it.
