There’s a long, long list of people you definitely shouldn’t pick a fight with, and Mike Tyson – nonchalant biter of ears – would be right at the top.

One cocky fellow went even further this week and pulled a gun on the legendary boxer. TMZ obtained video footage of the moment a man interrupted a comedy show in L.A. on Tuesday night to approach the former heavyweight champion of the world.

While the audio isn’t fully clear, eyewitness accounts claim that the man was challenging Tyson to a fight so that he could “upgrade my status.”

When Tyson refused to engage with the man, someone else then intervened. “What the fu*k are you doing? Get the fu*k out of here. I’m not playing with you, get out of here,” they can be heard yelling.

Just as Tyson’s challenger was about to be thrown out, he pulled out a gun. While others ducked for cover – including the person filming the incident, who hid under a table – Tyson completely kept his cool.

The man luckily had a change of heart, clearly regretting his foolhardy action. He once again approached Tyson, who sat in relative silence and listened to his story. When the man was finished, he and Tyson surprisingly embraced, before he left, followed by the departure of Tyson a little later.

Don’t you just hate it when you’re going to check out some stand-up comedy and a gun gets pulled on you? What a dampener on an evening. And for a man with an infamous temper, Tyson showed remarkable restraint in the situation.

It’s also reported that the police weren’t even called at any point, such was the deescalation of Tyson’s actions. Many other attendees of the comedy show understandably left, though, unsure if the man with the gun was lurking somewhere nearby.
