Sydney-based theatre collective Montague Basement has announced its season for 2015 with two new productions, All About Medea and Hamlet.

Sydney’s Inner-West theatre scene will see a touch of old-school class later this year, with Montague Basement Puberty Blues star Christian Byers will appear in both plays, working alongside Lucinda Howes inAll About Medea. This original production, written and directed by Saro Lusty-Cavallari, interrogates the trope of the manic pixie dream girl and examines our idolisation of exotic feminity, and will appear as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival.

In December, the production of Hamlethits the stage, also to be directed by Lusty-Cavallari. Byers and Howes will be joined by Zach Beavon-Collin, Robert Boddington and Patrick Morrow to give their own take on what are arguably the Bard’s most well-known words.

All About Medea and Hamlet will run in September and December respectively at the Montague Basement. For details and tickets online.
