The Sydney College of the Arts (SCA) Galleries are set to stage a multicultural art exhibit. The exhibit will feature works from artists of Aboriginal, Italian and Korean descent, called Blakattak, Bandiera Nera and Strange Associations respectively.

Installations in Blakattak will include the likes of Blakward Pawn, an outdoor chess set where the black pieces, all pawns, are outnumbered by a full complement of white pieces. Bandiera Nera by John Di Stefano explores the life and work of openly gay Italian political activist and artistPier Paolo Pasolini, assassinated in 1975 by the mafia, in a multimedia display. Strange Associationsis a visual-intensive output from Yvonne Boag, using prints and paintings to convey the distinctiveness of Korean cultural geography.

The exhibit is open Monday to Saturdays, between Monday January 21 and Wednesday February 23, at SCA Galleries in Lilyfield. For more information, visitsydney.edu.au/sca/galleries-events.
