With the latest season of Love Island finally over, there’s a massive space in the reality TV world to be filled. But a show about dating someone you’re related to? That’s a bit desperate, Netflix!
Rest easy though, because the streaming platform’s new dating series Dated & Related isn’t exactly about what its very weird title suggests.
“Imagine having to think about your sibling dating… how they flirt, how they treat their partners, and what their signature moves are. In this brand-new reality dating series, pairs of siblings will be seeing each other’s love life up close and personal as they search for ‘the one’ together,” the series’ official description explains.
“Having the person who knows you better than anyone should help you navigate the tricky world of dating. But will they act as the ultimate wingman and help you find love? Or scupper your plans and call you out on all your bullsh*t? Either way it might just be Awkward. As. Hell.”
That’s a little better, Netflix. But we see what you did with the title. We know what you were going for. As the new trailer for Dated & Related hints at, dating with a close sibling always around is far from an easy task.
The series is being hosted by Too Hot to Handle star Melissa Berry. Contestants get to stay in a luxury villa in the South of France, which probably made up a little for all the supreme awkwardness.
Will anyone be able to find love with a sibling watching on at all times? Probably not, but we only have to wait until September 2nd to officially find out. One thing’s for sure – it’s going to be cringeworthy to the max.
