As an aesthetic experience, the exhibition is sure to dazzle, but it also promises to come pre-packaged with a semi-political undertone too.
Steve Lopes, the acclaimed painter, is set to debut a new series of works entitledThe Late Riser at the Stella Downer gallery. An understated examination of the migrant experience, it draws from Lopes’ life and his travels between Austalia and the Italian islands where he was partially raised.
Since 1996 Lopes has had 25 exhibitions hosted across the globe, making him a truly international artist. Given his creditentials then, his upcoming exhibition should draw art-lovers as honey does flies.
The Late Riser will run from Tuesday April 5 till Saturday April 30. More information is available at the Stella Downer website, here.
