The Real Housewives of Melbourne saw massive success over the years and introduced viewers to some polarising personalities, like Gina Liano and Jackie Gillies.

Now, it seems as though the show’s creators may be considering another Australian spin-off of the show; The Real Housewives of The Gold Coast.

Australian streaming site Hayu recently released some promotional material detailing some of their most popular series. And, celebrity gossip account, @Celeb_Spellcheck spotted the title The Real Housewives of The Gold Coast amongst the list of shows.

The section of the promotion material focussed on reality TV and reads, “New and Original Australian reality series like the Real Housewives of the Gold Coast and Million Dollar Listing: Sydney.”

“There better be a fight out the front of Seaworld/Hogs Breath Cafe Surfers Paradise. Thank you Hayu Daddy,” another user commented.

While The Real Housewives of Melbourne was successful and ran for five years, the same cannot be said about The Real Housewives of Sydney. The NSW spin-off ran for one season in 2017 before getting the axe.

Back in 2017, before The Real Housewives of Sydney was released, there were rumours that a GC series of the popular franchise was set to be released.

At the time, Real Housewives executive producer Kylie Washington told The Daily Telegraph tha, when it came to an additional version of the series: “I think we can handle another.”

She added, “It will never be like the States where there are several different franchises running.

“It’s not sustainable and you don’t want to flood the market.”

Welp, considering that there hasn’t been any news about season six of Real Housewives of Melbourne being renewed, and Real Housewives of Sydney is axed, could we be seeing a GC version soon?
