This could be the Star Wars: Battlefront game we’ve been hoping for since the original was released back in 2015. While that game looked spectacular and had the solid, refined gameplay we’ve come to expect of its sister series Battlefield, it didn’t quite go far enough in delivering the all-encompassing Star Wars experience fans were expecting, and felt a little shallow.

With the introduction of space combat shown in the new trailer, however, we might be looking at the first game in the new series to really capture the feeling of being in the Battle of Hoth, scrambling across the snow with a blaster before jumping into a ship and taking to the skies – and then space.

Revealed at Gamescom, the new trailer shows off a bunch of special ships including Darth Vader’s custom Scimitar, new guy Poe Dameron’s personal X-Wing, and of course the Millennium Falcon, as well as a fierce battle between Yoda and Darth Maul – some serious fan-service for Star Wars nuts.

We also get a look at the new Starfighter Assault mode that the ships will feature heavily in, which will hopefully give players the more substantial ship-based combat that was lacking in the first game, which only featured a fairly basic dogfight mode.

The game is set for release on November 17 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and we’re already more excited for this than the beleaguered Han Solo movie – check it out below.
