We’re now a couple of weeks into the new year, and you know what that means: we’re only a matter of days away from the biggest date in the Aussie music fan’s diary – Hottest 100 Day!

Of course, while you’re probably planning on tuning in, you might want to head into Newtown if you’re looking to make it into a proper party, as the Marly is bringing some awesome acts together for a killer day – and night – of tunes.

The Marly has a track record for throwing great parties, and this year’s Hottest 100 Day will be no different with a brilliant lineup planned. Ball Park Music’s Jen Boyce will be jumping behind the decks with 2017 fave Alex the Astronaut for a double DJ set, while triple j Home & Hosed host and Aussie music encyclopedia Dom Alessio will also be stepping up to curate the rest of the evening’s tunes.

Of course, there’ll be plenty of fun to be had during the day while the countdown’s running, with Hottest 100 themed contests, a BBQ from Fernando’s showing off ‘The Best of the West’, and great drink specials, with $5 Young Henry’s Newtowner tinnies and a specially-brewed one-off keg from Batch Brewing Co.

So, make sure you get your votes in, and head along to the Marly on Saturday January 27 for one of the best celebrations of musical democracy you’ll find anywhere in the world – check out the Marly’s event page for more info, and gear up with Ball Park Music’s recent appearance on triple j’s Like A Version below.
