Newtown’s new home of live music, Leadbelly, has announced its lineup of free live music for the month of August.

The venue will open this Thursday August 4 on the former King Street site of The Vanguard, and in great news for music fans across Sydney, the new owners are staying true to the building’s live music roots.

There’ll be flavours of everything from rockabilly and country to indie rock and acoustic singer-songwriters at Leadbelly, with four nights of completely free live music taking place every week.

And to help wash down those sweet, sweet tunes, Leadbelly’s kitchen will be cooking up pizzas, po’boys, burgers, buffalo wings and Nutella donuts, while there’ll be a wide selection of beers and wines.

The August music lineup includes Bad Pony (opening the venue on Thursday August 4), Bin Juice (Saturday August 13), Pat Capocci (Thursday August 18), Los Tones (Friday August 19) and Lepers And Crooks (Thursday August 25).
