Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has thrown shade at the contestants on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, by suggesting that they may not be as famous as they think.

During a Q&A session with fans on his Instagram, the well-known tennis player was asked if he would ever go on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Outta Here!.

He responded, as per Yahoo Lifestyle Australia: “No. People who go on that show tend not to be celebrities anyway. Excuse to get money… They take themselves a bit too seriously because they are known in Australia.”

This year’s contestants on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! range from sports players to reality stars and include Nathan Henry from Geordie Shore, Aesha Scott from Below Deck, Peter Hellair from The Project and gold Logie winner Kerrie Anne Kennerly.

However, the latter only lasted three days in the jungle before self-elimination. Her withdrawal came after a heated fight with her co-star MAFS’ Domenica Calarco.

Dom had previously taken annoyance with the fact that Kerri-Anne Kennerly had a clause in her contract that allowed her to take make-up into the jungle campsite in South Africa. Then, in an eating contest, Dom, KAK, along with fellow contestants Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson and Woody Whitelaw were challenged to eat an Antelopes’s testicles in order to win food for the group.

Domenica criticised Kennerly for not giving the challenge a go and called her selfish.

“Miss big contract lady, ‘Can’t tell me what to do.’ I don’t want your (make-up), I don’t want your Revlon 1989 lipstick, doll,’ Dom told KAK.

“It’s not fair – it’s not fair to everyone in there who actually tries. Why are you here, bro? Legit, actually, why are you here?!’
