Comedian and actor Nicole Byer is making her Australian live debut this April. The tour follows the success of Nailed It!, the Netflix baking show hosted by Byer.

Tickets for Nicole Byer’s debut tour of Australia went on sale last November. She’s charting a trail down the east cost with shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Now, due to overwhelming demand, Byer has added a couple of extra dates in Sydney.

Byer’s show on May 1 at the Comedy Store has already sold out. A new show  will take place at the same venue on April 30. Byer has also added an extra date at the Factory Theatre, which means she’ll be there on both Saturday May 2 and Sunday May 3.

Nailed It! premiered on Netflix two years ago. It’s an amateur baking show inspired by reality TV mainstays The Great British Bake Off and The Great American Baking Show (yes that’s a thing). However, Nailed It! puts the focus squarely on failure. The featured bakers have been selected based on their shoddy kitchen skills and, led by Byer’s sharp comedic sensibility, hilarity prevails.

Prior to Nailed It! Byer starred in the webseries Loosely Exactly Nicole, which took liberties with her life story. It ran for two seasons across MTV and Facebook Watch. She’s also the host of the popular Why Won’t You Date Me? podcast. Byer invites friends or fellow comedians over to share dating stories and try to figure out why she’s perpetually single.

Byer’s been performing stand-up comedy for several years. Last year The Austin Chronicle praised Byer for delivering “a sharply written set that still felt off the cuff thanks to Byer’s breezy delivery and ribald content.”
