Before Andre Coutinho came to Love Island 2022, he asked friend and ex-contestant Noah Hura for some advice. Clearly, it didn’t work out.
Note to self: don’t depend on Noah Hura for advice, it seems. In a recent chat with So Dramatic!, Love Island 2022 contestant Andre Coutinho opened up about the, ahem, “sound” advice Noah Hura gave him before he joined the show.
For context, Coutinho and Hura have been friends since their teens. Hura, in fact, recommended him to the producers, which eventually landed Coutinho a coveted spot on this season. Before he came on, however, Coutinho got in touch with Hura for some wisdom.
“He said, ‘Go in there, be you, try and stick with a girl, find the most dramatic girl’,” Coutinho recalled. “He said to try and get some airtime.”
Coutinho, however, soon figured this wasn’t the way for him, especially after he met Jessica Losurdo. “Jess stepped forward for me, and I went away from that… just stuff that went on behind-the-scenes between us walking out and picking [someone],” he said.
Coutinho soon hit it off with Stella Hutcheon, but became the first contestant to be officially dumped on the show after Hutcheon chose Jordan Dowsett over him.
Still, Coutinho said, he didn’t have any regrets about his time on the show, however short-lived it was. “I think [Jordan] said it pretty well, like, I’d rather leave being myself than stay an extra week or two and stop being me. That’s the most important thing.” he said.
