MAFS star Olivia Frazer has opened up about a weight loss surgery she had which saw her lose 50kgs.

The reality TV participant told her Instagram followers in a Q&A session that she underwent gastric sleeve surgery when she was 22. Frazer says she lost more than half of her body weight as a result of the surgery and dropped down to a tiny 45kgs.

“My recovery was pretty good except I developed gallstones … When you have rapid weight loss you can develop that,” Frazer said of the gastric sleeve surgery. “So I was in a lot of pain. I went from 95kg to 45kg within a year.”

Gallstones are hardened pieces of bile that form in the gallbladder. They can cause pain when the movement of bile is blocked from the gallbladder. If they are not treated they can lead to serious health complications.

Frazer also shared before and after photos of the weight loss surgery, captioning a younger photo “from this” and a noticeably slimmer photo, “to this”.

Frazer was undoubtedly one of the biggest personalities in the 2022 season of MAFS, however, it wasn’t necessary for positive reasons. The 28-year-old was unofficially given the ‘villain’ title early on in the series and displayed controversial behaviour throughout the entire season. She’s admitted to circulating racy photos of Domenica from her OnlyFans account, and Domenica has threatened legal action against Olivia.

While viewers may beg that the controversial dramas are largely instigated by Olivia, the reality star is outraged at the way the general public has responded to her.

“I’m at the point now where I’m trying to get up off the floor … I’m at rock bottom, and I’m trying to get up,” she told podcast host Mia Freedman.

“And every time someone messages one of my loved ones something awful, I feel like I’m getting kicked back down. I’ve had death threats sent to my personal phone number … and I’ve had many on Facebook.

“It’s not just the show – if it was just the show, we could all just laugh and say, ‘Yeah that’s not Liv’s character, that’s a different story,’ but it’s the public believing it … it’s just the shock.”
