I don’t know about you, but if I was ever the longtime bass player from Silverchair, and then my band broke up, I’d probably look around at the decades of studio gear cluttering up the joint: instruments, synths, basses, probably cables that are all tangled even though you always figure eight loop them neatly — anyway, if that was me, I’d probably sell a bunch of the gear.

Coincidentally, that’s exactly what Chris Joannou, the actual bassist for Silverchair, is doing.

The store opens Thursday and features amps and basses used on tours, gear he has owned for two decades, the bass he played on the Freak Show record (Sidenote: ‘No Association’: underrated!) and stacks more. Stacks and stacks.

Over to you, Chris.

“The gear for sale in my Reverb shop needs to go to a loving home—especially the bass guitars that have been with me on tour. They’re like family to me… they all have names. They’ve been with me for so long, toured all over the world with me, they’ve seen me at my best and at my worst,” Joannou told us. “But I’m no longer using them, and it’s time for someone else to enjoy them.”

The store opens Thursday. Check out pics of some of the gear below, and check out the official release/store page here at Reverb.
