Three brand new orchestral works for the price of one? Who in their right minds would turn that particular opportunity down?

Carriageworks is unstoppable at the moment, it seems: the performance space has just announced an upcoming show,Crossing The Threshold, which will see the debut of three new works from Australian and international composers.

The pieces have been composed by Lisa Illean, Brett Dean and Gerard Grisey, and will be performed by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. The works are focused around subjects as diverse as the ocean, deforestation and the death of divine figures, meaning the evening promises to be as moving as it will be varied.

Crossing The Threshold hits Carriageworks on Sunday March 13. More information is available on the website, here.
