Overwatch players have enough to come to grips with whenever a patch drops, bringing a heap of balance changes to our favourite characters – like today’s Symmetra changes that almost turn her into a completely new character.

But nothing throws a spanner in the works like an actual new character, and it looks like Blizzard have just hinted who the next addition to the crowd might be.

Released yesterday, Blizzard’s latest tweet shows a run-down alley for a couple of seconds, before some sort of sphere comes barging past at a ridiculous speed – presumably with Hero 28 seated inside. The only question now is: who is it?

Two popular theories seem to be prevailing, and we’re not sure which one we’d rather see. The first – solidified by the references to the Horizon space colony and its monkey occupants on the posters on the wall – is that the ball contains Hammond, a primate pal of Winston’s still trapped on the colony.

The second theory is a little more out of left field, with the half-covered ‘scrapyard’ text and image of Junkertown’s Junker Queen making some people think that the ball may be some sort of transport mech that she pilots, that possibly transforms into something along the lines of DVA’s exoskeleton.

Our money’s on the monkey, though, as whoever’s inside that ball looks like they’re having a lot of fun – although all of the imagery in the teaser could be there just to throw us all for a loop, and it turns out Hero 28 is actually Hanzo and Genji’s long-lost triplet. Who knows!

The Overwatch Twitter account followed the vid up with this little nugget too, knowing full well that anything they put out is bound to be picked apart and over-analysed right up until Jeff pulls back the curtains.
