As we reported yesterday, the legendary music venue The Lansdowne is reopening with three nights of surprise acts, each of which will be announced on the night at 7 sharp.

Tickets for each night will be available for $10 on the door at 8pm – first in, best dressed.

Tonight it’s Sydney’s Palms, a scrappy indie pop band made up of members of Red Riders and Straight Arrows.

These guys have been a local favourite for a few years, so it’s likely to be packed by the time doors open in an hour (less if you’re not furiously refreshing THE BRAG’s Facebook page, as you should be. See what happens when you don’t?)

As the venue managers told us yesterday, “We want people to feel that if they don’t make the effort to come to one, if not all of the opening nights, they will be the grandparent in years to come telling the story of missed opportunity to their grandkids!

“The idea of not announcing each night in advance is to say come and take a chance with us, and you’ll see something that only live music can provide.”
