Revealing that she was sexually abused at the Provo Canyon School, Paris Hilton is calling for the institute to be shut down.

Paris Hilton is doubling down on her calls to shut down her former boarding school, Provo Canyon School, after revealing that she was sexually abused while staying at the establishment.

Hilton’s account comes as part of The New York Times’ investigation into the widespread culture of boot camps, therapy centres, therapeutic boarding schools and treatment centres for ‘troubled teens’. Hilton opened up about her time at the Provo Canyon School during her documentary This Is Paris, calling her stay there a ‘living nightmare.’

As part of the recent investigation, however, Hilton has revealed that in addition to the mental, emotional, physical, and verbal abuse, she was also abused sexually.

“At Provo Canyon School, I was woken up in the middle of the night by male staff who ushered me into a private room and performed cervical exams on me in the middle of the night.” Hilton tweeted shortly after The New York Times published their investigation.

Hilton went on to add: “Sleep-deprived & heavily medicated, I didn’t understand what was happening. I was forced to lie on a padded table, spread my legs & submit to cervical exams. I cried while they held me down & said, ‘No!’ They just said, ‘Shut up. Be quiet. Stop struggling or you’ll go to Obs.’”

Speaking to NYT, Hilton added: “Very late at night… this would be around, like, three or four in the morning. They would take myself and the other girls into this room, and they would perform medical exams.”

Hilton also alleged that said medical exams would not be in the presence of a doctor, but were instead administered by staff members. “This wasn’t even with a doctor. It was with a couple different staff members where they would have us lay on the table and put their fingers inside of us.”

“It was really scary, and it was something that I had really blocked out for many years,” Hilton said.

In her tweets, Hilton doubled down on her calls to have the school shut down. “This was a recurring experience not only for me but for other #survivors. I was violated & I am crying as I type this because no one, especially a child, should be sexually abused. My childhood was stolen from me & it kills me this is still happening to other innocent children.” she said.

Provo Canyon School has long maintained that they have always ‘operated within the requirements of our reporting obligation.’

Some employees, however – including one that Hilton specifically remembered as bragging to others ‘that she was the one who broke Paris Hilton’ – remained employed even after the school administration changed hands. Said employee was only fired after the documentary aired.
