According to People magazine, Paul Rudd was named the Sexiest Man Alive in 2021. According to his wife, that title should have gone to Keanu Reeves.

In a new interview with Extra, Paul Rudd has admitted that his spouse Julie Yaeger “would have voted for Keanu Reeves.” In a turn of events, it appears that Rudd seems to agree, saying “come on, he’s Keanu, I’d vote for him.”

At the age of 52, Rudd became the oldest winner of the Sexiest Man Alive since Harrison Ford way back in 1998. Reeves himself is no stranger to the title. People had skipped the award in 1994, but retroactively gave the prize to the John Wick star in 2015.

The argument that Rudd never seems to age, and that’s why he may have won the award doesn’t appear to cut it for Yaeger, who would simply award the title of Sexiest Man Alive to Keanu again, voting him above her own husband.

This month is a busy month for the actor; not only was he named the Sexiest Man Alive, but his dark comedy miniseries for Apple TV+ alongside Will Ferrell has just released on November 12th, The Shrink Next Door. Fans of the actor can also look forward to his role in the upcoming Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which is set for release on November 19th.

Rudd has also revealed that he was expecting “so much grief” from his close friends over this award. “All of my friends will destroy me and I expect them to. And that’s why they’re my friends.” And it looks like his predictions were true. “No arguments here,” says Seth Rogen. “I knew this day would come,” tweets Mark Ruffalo.
