Yes, it’s actually happening – Paul McCartney is touring Australia and New Zealand this year for the first time since 1993.

The music legend and former Beatle made the announcement during a live Q&A with fans this evening, hosted by comedian Tim Minchin, telling fans that he’s heading over in December for five local dates as part of his ‘One On One’ tour.

Paul will be playing shows in Perth, Melbourne Brisbane and Sydney, plus a show in Auckland, New Zealand, with tickets on sale next week, and presales available to Frontier Touring members.

The tour has been one of the most requested of all in Australia, as Paul hasn’t been here since his ‘New World Tour’ all the way back in 1993, after a planned 2002 jaunt was cancelled following the Bali bombings. It will only be his third time performing in Australia, having toured with Wings in 1975 and of course with The Beatles all the way back in 1964.

The first venue and ticketing details are below, and will be updated as more information arrives.
