If you’re desperate to snag yourself tickets to PAX Australia 2021, organisers have just dropped a new set of instructions.

When PAX Australia announced that, despite all odds, it would be returning to our shores for 2021, gamers were chuffed. Set to take place from October 8 – October 10 at Melbourne’s Convention and Exhibition Centre, it’s one of the first major local gaming events to be given the green light since the global pandemic started.

It’s also bound to be an absolute nightmare to get a ticket. But if you’re keen to try, today’s the day.

Word comes from the event’s official Twitter page which dropped all the info over the last 24 hours. This is how things are going to work…

At 10am (AEST) this morning PAX Aus organisers will share a link to buy yourself an Early Bird ticket – presumably via social media. Once you have that link, at midday it should automatically redirect you to either a ticket page or a virtual queue.

Be placed in the queue and it’s a matter of simply patiently waiting for your turn. It’s said to be a “fair, first-come-first-served order.”

This update comes after tickets originally went on sale two weeks ago, but naturally turned into an absolute shitshow. The website couldn’t handle demand and nobody was happy.

As a result, organisers chose to close down the platform and try again for another date with a better system in place.

There’s still no word on what exactly the schedule for PAX Australia 2021 will be yet, but that’s not stopping people from jumping on tickets all the same. There’s also no word on how many Early Bird passes are available, but we imagine it’ll be significantly less than usual.

If you’re planning to give it a red hot go, may the odds be ever in your favour.
