In a recent internet trend, writer Gail Simone has challenged people to come up with the worst possible actors to play different Marvel characters.

This has sent #terribleMCUcasting trending on Twitter, with many people taking part to create the worst of the worst, in some kind of competition for who can be the most awful in their creations. Here are some of the best/most terrible of the lot.

Kevin Hart as the Falcon would be one of the worst MCU additions to possibly be made. Hart’s humour is very hit or miss, and for the most part he always plays the same type of character. We are grateful that he wasn’t an option for the real Falcon. We thank the cinema gods every night.

Owen Wilson as Thor. “Wow”. This would potentially be the most easy-going yet unheroic feeling Thor ever. While he does have the hair for it, we think we’ll give this one a mighty pass.

Peppa Pig, pop legend and princess of the charts who has just come off a high from releasing her smash debut album, but as Spider-Man, is something that none of us were ready for. This would be the perfect opportunity for Peppa to spread her talents into the cinematic world.

Danny DeVito as Galactus would devour monster planets with his magnum mouth. Although he is beloved by many, this definitely would be a terrible casting choice. Maybe we can save this one for our hearts.

Daley Pearson has joined in on the fun as well, joking about his appearance as Thor’s roommate in the Marvel miniseries.

It seems some people also don’t know the difference between DC and Marvel, but anything would be better than Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern. I’m here for Obama on the big screen.

There is some strange uncanny resemblance between Elton John and Dr. Octopus… not quite the most terrible casting to be honest. Doc Oc the musical when?
