Netflix now has a category dedicated to short-ass movies thanks to Pete Davidson and the Saturday Night Live crew.

The lengths of movies seem to be getting longer every year (I’m looking at you, The Batman) and this seems to be getting on the nerves of Pete Davidson.

Along with Gunna, Chris Redd and Simon Rex, the team essentially complain about the lengths of movies on Netflix when they just want something short-ass. But they sang, of course.

In the sketch they criticise films like Once Upon A Time, in American for its three hour and 47 minute run time. On the other hand, praising the run times of classics like Austin Powers, The Lion King and The Evil Dead.

Not even Pete Davidson’s own movie The King of Staten Island is safe from the song. Gunna highlights the irony in Davidson complaining about runtimes when Staten was 2 hours and 17 minutes.

Though meant as a friendly joke, Netflix have taken the song on board.

Heading to Twitter, Netflix retweeted the viral clip and announced the new iconic category.

In the collection of Short-Ass Movies you can find The Wrong Missy, Rush Hour 2 and most importantly Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.

Is this just a fun joke by Netflix? Or is the Short-Ass Movies category here to stay?
