Do you enjoy eating pizza but always thought that it should have more of a sporting spin to it? You’ll probably like Sauce of Origin then, the cool new initiative from Pizza Hut.

The fast food chain is giving Aussie footy fans the opportunity to proudly show their team colours in a tasty way by topping their pizzas, chicken wings, meatballs, and Schnittzas with either blue or maroon ranch sauce for free.

This could really make victory taste just that little sweeter. The actual State of Origin begins on Wednesday, June 8th at Sydney’s Accor Stadium. Game 2 heads to Perth’s Optus Stadium on Saturday, June 26th, before the classic series comes to an end at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday, July 13th.

So just keep in mind where you are while you’re eating your Pizza Hut: if you’re in NSW, it might not be wise to have maroon ranch sauce covering your dinner over the next several weeks. It’s probably not worth the hassle.

And your choice has added importance because orders will be totalled up to determine the winner of Sauce of Origin. Every time one of the coloured sauces is added to an order, it’s recorded, with the results tracked state-by-state in real time on the Pizza Hut website.

“Sauce of Origin is the perfect way to show support for your team and have a little friendly competition with your mates across the country,” Pizza Hut Australia’s Director of Marketing & Digital, Simon Stocks says about the initiative. “We’re excited to see which colour comes out on top and help Aussies share good times along the way.”

If you want to play Sauce of Origin alongside watching State of Origin, get in quick with your order before July 13th.
