The Provincial Information Minister of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Yousuf Shaukat Zai, had the worlds most wholesome mishap at a recent press conference.

As SBS reports, the minister was hosting a conference with local journalists, that was broadcast live through Facebook. The event took an Andrew Lloyd Webber-inspired turn when a cat filter infiltrated the stream. The filter wreaked havoc, latching on to the face of Shaukat Zai and his colleague. Transforming the pair into extremely non-threatening, glowing pink felines.

Of course, if a public balls-up happens on the internet, the internet will react by immortalising the moment forever. Minutes into the live stream, viewers made it their responsibility to capture evidence of the footage and feed it to the general public.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have since released a statement addressing the incident. Claiming that the filter was a result of  “human error” and  “all actions have been taken to avoid such incidents in future.”

“Yesterday whilst covering a Press briefing held by KP’s information minister Shaukat Yousafzai, a ‘cat filter’ was witnessed by the viewers which was removed within few minutes,” the statement read.

Technology is often a confusing maze to navigate. We’ll never forget the time that our pop saviour Carly Rae Jepsen accidentally instigated an Instagram pocket live-stream; anointing herself the “Queen of not checking her phone for minutes at a time.”
