Prince Harry’s days of partying and livin’ it up might be well behind him, but it’s good to have reminders every now and then, right? If you’re obsessed with the Royals – or, well, one royal – you now have a shot winning a pair of Prince Harry’s underwear.
The origins of said pair – which is being auctioned by former stripper Carrie Royale – pertain to Prince Harry’s infamous party in Las Vegas ten years ago. According to Royale’s accounts, Harry had stripped down while playing pool in the hotel room, where she was also present.
Royale claimed the Prince gave her the pair as a keepsake. Shortly after, Harry was also pictured hugging a woman who appeared to be nude, prompting headlines across the world to cry scandal.
The bid will be conducted both online and offline on Thursday, with the starting number being 10,000 USD ($14,314 AUD). In case the figure crosses the $800,000 USD mark ($1,145,136 AUD), the winner will also receive a three-litre bottle of vintage 1996 Dom Pérignon Rose, wrapped in 24-carat gold.
While the proceeds from the auction will go in their entirety to Archewell – Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s charity – the motivation to auction the pair is entirely too personal and less than noble, one could say.
“Harry has become such a bore, it’s a real shame. When he partied in Vegas, everyone loved him and his sense of fun. At least these pants are a reminder of what he used to be like… when Harry was the fun prince.” a representative for Royale said in a statement, stressing that the underwear was being auctioned to remind the world of Harry’s good ol’ party days.
