Actress, musician, mate to Michael Stipe and celebrity chef Asha Bhosle is set to take her farewell tour to the hallowed halls of the Sydney Opera House. The musical polymath has over seven decades’ worth of experience in the business, and was recently named one of the top musical icons of the last 50 years by CNN.
“It’s not every day we get to welcome a giant of the last 70 years of music and the undisputed queen of her musical world,” said Ben Marshall, Head of Contemporary Music at the Sydney Opera House. Certainly it’s not, and given that she is set to retire, Bhosle’s farewell show really is a once in a lifetime event.
