The Queer Screen Film Fest runs across six days next month, with twenty films showcasing a diverse range of LGBTIQ stories.
Queer Screen have now announced they will be donating $1 from every ticket sale to the Equality Campaign, which should be the nudge you needed to book a ticket to one of the films.
Queer Screen President Kevin Ryan said of the decision: “Queer Screen has a proud history of supporting Australian Marriage Equality. As an organisation, we’re dedicated to celebrating the strength and diversity of LGBTIQ people on screen, and we’re passionate about achieving equality for our community.
“Should the government’s proposed postal vote on marriage equality go ahead, we want to help ensure a ‘yes’ vote is successful.
“We are delighted to announce fundraising support of The Equality Campaign through a one dollar donation from every ticket sold at this year’s Queer Screen Film Fest.”
All films will screen at Event Cinemas on George St. between September 19-24. Check the entire program here.
