Arnott’s has released a new desert-inspired range of biscuits, with some new takes on some old classics to shake up their range.

The iconic Aussie biscuit company were also nice enough to send over some samples ahead of the new range hitting the shelves… Time for some tasting methinks.

So I’ll be replacing one meal with three packets of biscuits, and then probably going for a long run, either later tonight or early tomorrow depending on how guilty I feel.

I’ll be giving each a bit of a break-down after trying it, plus a recommendation for when best to consume, and a rating out of ten.

Let’s do this!

Arnott’s Salted Caramel Tart Scotch Finger

I was honestly a bit hesitant when trying these bad boys. The OG Scotch Finger is just such a staple of the biscuit world that how can you improve upon it?

After I had three of these I began to understand. What’s lost in the classic flavour of the perfect tea-dipping biscuit is made up for in one of the most popular flavours of recent times, salted caramel.

It won’t ever replace the original, but the key here is to pretend this isn’t a Scotch Finger, but another beast entirely. That’s how you’ll be able to enjoy it for the marvellous creation it is – 7/10

Arnott’s Lamington Iced Vovo

The humble Iced Vovo has been all over the internet recently, making a massive comeback as people post all sorts of recipes to use them in baking. Taking the cue from that, Arnott’s released the recipe, and now they’ve followed that up with the Lamington Iced Vovo.

These are seriously good, and light enough to down three or four before you’ve even realised the packet is open. The chocolate strip replaces the classic pink strip, and yeah, it tastes just like a thin lamington on top of a perfect layer of biscuit.

Definitely an anytime snack – 9/10

Arnott’s Mud Cake Shortbread Cream

Okay well I knew before I even smashed a few of these down my gob that I was going to be a massive fan. The classic Shortbread Cream is a staple of the Aussie lifestyle, and is already on the more decadent side when it comes to a biccie to pair with your morning or afternoon tea.

This one tastes exactly how you think it might. The biscuit is crumbly with a hint of chocolate taste, but the champion is the cream inside. Not that I don’t love the regular filling in a Shortbread Cream, but this takes things to a new level.

It may never replace one of your favourite morning tea snacks, but when you’re shopping for an after-dinner treat, there’s a strong new competitor in down – 8/10

The new range will be available at Coles exclusively from June 2nd for $3 each.
