Rebel Wilson recently revealed that her contract for the first Pitch Perfect movie included a clause requiring her to maintain the same weight throughout filming.

During an interview on Spotify’s Call Her Daddy podcast, The Australian actress addressed the clause in her contract for her role of Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect.

“I couldn’t lose a massive amount of weight because I was [under] contracts for that movie. You can’t lose, I think it’s not more than 10 pounds (4.5kg), or gain more than 10 pounds (4.5kg),” she told the host Alex Cooper.

Wilson said she waited until ‘Pitch Perfect seemed it was over’ before changing her exercising and eating habits. She was required to abide by the clause for the film’s sequels, which ended up being roughly five years.

“I’d been thinking for a while like, I wanted to get healthier and I was stereotyped in playing that fat funny friend, which is so hard because I love those roles,” she told the host. “I did want to do more things… being the bigger girl you’re just more pigeon-holed.”

The 42-year-old has lost 35kgs since 2020 and has publicly said that she strived to lose the weight in an attempt to help her chances at improving her fertility. Fortunately, Wilson’s pregnancy journey was successful, and she shared the news of her daughter on Instagram last November in a heart-warming post.
