For the first time since the Twilight saga concluded, Robert Pattinson has been well and truly thrust back into the spotlight as the ‘it’ man of Hollywood, thanks to his starring role in The Batman.

Now, the popular actor has revealed for one of his next projects, that he’d love to play a starring part in Dune: Part Two.

Speaking to Variety, Pattinson said that he was a big fan of filmmaker Matt Reeves, who directed The Apes movie, as well as The Batman, which is one of the reasons he signed up for the Gotham gig. Pattinson went on to say that The Apes franchise is one of the only movies he’d like to do a sequel for, along with Dune and Sicario.

“I love those “Apes” movies so much. There’s only been two movies — well, three now — where I wanted to do a sequel: the “Apes” movies, Sicario and Dune, he told the publication.

“I saw both of the “Apes” movies in the cinema and I just thought what he could do with mo-cap was just so unbelievable. If he could do that with a monkey’s face, then he can get a performance out of me as well.”

Pattinson went on to describe why he believes that Reeves is such a talented film-maker.

“I think he has a really good understanding of fear,” Pattinson says. “I think a lot of people try to bullshit themselves that they’re not afraid of anything. But Matt really acknowledges things that have scared him in his life and things that scare him presently, and can project those into his movies.”
