Roger, the thicc kangaroo that broke the internet back in 2015, has passed away, age 12. Roger passed away peacefully of old age in his home at The Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs. His death was confirmed through a video posted on The Kangaroo Sanctuary’s Facebook page.
The poignant tribute has shared “Roger was our Alpha Male for many years, he grew up to be a kangaroo that people from all over the world have grown to love as much as we love him too. He will always be here. We’ve laid him to rest so that he can be with his family.”
Roger ascended to the highest echelons of internet relevance after a photo of him crushing a metal bucket with his bare paws went viral. We can only hope that Roger is finally at peace, and is up in heaven, pumping iron with the late, great Zyzz. Ripped in peace.
