Wanna know what is hilarious? When a quick-thinking Mr. Bean, tasked with saving a goldfish in a leaking bag, popped the fish and some water into his mouth for safe-keeping, then actually swallowed it after being startled.

What isn’t funny is some “comedian” (sarcastic quotation marks were used by RSPCA too) being filmed eating and later vomiting a live goldfish in a pet store.

The video was posted by the comic, and then shared by professional boxer Kyron Dryen. Staff at Petbarn in Penrith weren’t amused, and lodged a formal complaint with RSPCA NSW and the NSW Police. Keeping with the theme of the day, neither of those organisations were too pleased either.

The guy could go to prison for two side-splitting years, and faces a hilarious $22,000 fine, under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979.

“It’s completely astounding how anyone could think it is funny to eat a live pet fish, where it would suffer a slow and painful death, all in a poor attempt at humour,” RSPCA NSW Chief Inspector David OShannessy said.

“The law is very clear around protections for fish and other sentient beings under the legislation, and this matter will be thoroughly investigated.”

RSPCA NSW are asking that you kindly snitch, should you have any info.
