Ruby Rose has finally spoken out about a series of Instagram stories that she posted about The Veronicas in which she suggested she will expose her ex-girlfriend Jess Origliasso and her sister Lisa in a memoir.
Earlier this month, Rose shared a series of Instagram stories. In one of them, she announced that she was writing a book and implied that she’d be singling out The Veronicas in the memoir.
“Book writing,” Ruby wrote in the first Instagram story, which she followed with: “The truth. It will p*ss a lot of people off.. But maybe you should have been better? Excited to be free. Excited to tell the truth.
“On the sisters [Veronicas]? You’re first. How horrific you were.” In a third story, she writes, “Imagine mistaking kindness for weakness”.
Ruby and Jess dated from 2016 until 2018, and at the time of their split, their relationship appeared to be amicable. However, the relationship between the pair has since soured.
Today, in one of Rose’s first interviews in five years, the actress was asked about her posts, and whether she was still planning on exposing the women in her memoir.

“I was in Greece shooting this film, which is really quite a tricky, you know, it’s about the 2021 Afghanistan, you know, bringing the troops back, which was a real mess, and really horrible. So it’s a really serious film, long hours,” she told Fitzy & Wippa.
Rose continued, “So I’m writing that [the memoir] and, you know, I had, I guess a bit of a trauma reaction, and then posted online, you know, something stupid, like, you know, ‘so many people are going to be angry when’ that’s sort of not really the truth.
“I just was really kind of hurt in that moment and definitely lashed out and I need to be away from social media and those times, what it will be is it’s not so much to tell all of like, you know, here’s my story and feel sorry for me or you know, whatever it is.
“It’s really important to me that I do clarify some things some truths that were really not cool and you know, if there’s some things that I do want to talk about.”

However, Rose went on to say that she found an old photo of herself which was taken when she was dating Jess Origliasso and said she was shocked by how unhealthy she looked.
“I stumbled across a picture from Pitch Perfect three, the premiere. And I’d forgotten that, just how I mean, I look, I’m emaciated. I’m just dissociated, I look so broken, and I got filled with rage, because I was like, how did I let it get that bad? And why was I, you know, and so that’s why I wrote what I wrote.
“It’s not some sort of tell, or like Prince Harry, where it’s sort of, here’s my, it’s, it’s sort of here are some things that happened that are pretty hard… I want it to be more of an inspiring book, as opposed to, you know, it’s not a revenge book, and it’s not a gossip book.”
While Rose danced around how much The Veronicas will feature in her new book, she did confirm that there will be some content about them.
“That [section of the book] isn’t all about those girls know, the bit that says.. yes. That’s quite clearly [about them].”
