Sacha Baron Cohen has spent the past few months milling around Sydney with his wife Isla Fisher and their children.

Over the weekend, the comedian made his second surprise appearance at a comedy club in Moore Park’s Entertainment Quarter, in an appearance that saw Sacha Baron Cohen perform a 20-minute set in character as Borat.

“He was a surprise guest at the end of the showcase,” a show’s attendee told The Daily Telegraph. “There were about 100 people in there. They’re trying something new.”

Earlier this month, Cohen revived the beloved Ali G for a performance at The Comedy Store. The last time Ali G made a public appearance was when Sacha Baron Cohen accepted the Comedic Genius Award at the MTV Awards in an appearance that saw Borat, Ali G and a number of other alter-egos tried to steal the limelight.

No footage from either performance has made its way online. At the previous Comedy Store show, attendees were reportedly asked to put their phones in locked pouches before entering.

The concept of witnessing a surprise Sacha Baron Cohen set is probably the only thing in life that would convince me to make the awful schlep to Moore Park.

Last year, Cohen released the second film in his beloved Borat franchise, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, available to stream now on Amazon Prime.
