Former NFL player Sam Burgess has shared exciting pregnancy news, revealing that he and his girlfriend Lucy Graham are expecting a baby.

The couple went public with their relationship in October last year. A rep for Burgess confirmed the pregnancy, and it’s been reported that Graham is past the three month mark.

“Both Sam and Lucy are happy and healthy and excited about their future together,” the spokeswoman said.

“We are so excited and happy to be starting this new chapter together… Happy days,” Burgess told Daily Mail Australia in a statement.

It will be the first child for Burgess and Graham as a couple, and the former Rabbitoh’s star has two children with his ex wife Phoebe Burgess.

A friend told Daily Mail Australia that although his and Graham’s relationship is relatively new, it’s going very well.

“He’s mad about Lucy. It’s been a whirlwind but she is a fantastic woman. They get along so well. All of his friends are so thrilled to see how happy he makes her,” the source said.

They added, “The Burgesses are very family oriented and I think there was always a plan to start a family. From what I hear, she is genuinely good for him. When they’re together apparently they laugh all the time – she cracks him up.

“He is likely going to coach South’s next year, so this is a nice step for him.”

Sam Burgess won season two of the reality show SAS Australia, which aired last year in 2021. He was the only celebrity recruit to pass the gruelling SAS Australia selection and ultimately win the competition.

This cast for the upcoming season of SAS Australia was recently announced, and includes Cassie Sainsbury, otherwise known as “cocaine Cassie”, The Bachelor lead Tim Robards, fashionista Lindy Klim, Olympic athletes Matthew Mitcham and Stephanie Rice among the ranks.
