Samantha Jade has opened up about her secret Italian wedding to her fiancé Pat, and shared the details of where they got married.

Samantha Jade and her partner Pat got engaged in 2019, but had to postpone their 2020 wedding because of COVID. Now, the singer has revealed that they secretly wed in Venice, Italy last month.

“You know what it was kind of a last minute decision, we were going to Europe and that was kind of a last minute holiday as well,” she told Kyle and Jackie O.

“Our actual dream was to get married in Europe, we got engaged, which was like, four years ago and I thought, ‘why don’t we just do it while were there, and then we can have a proper wedding with everyone we love a bit later down the line?’.

She added, “We’ve been engaged for so long, and I was like, it’s time, it’s been time.”

The popular Australian artist told the hosts that the only guests in attendance were Guy and Jules Sebastian, and the entire affair was very low key.

“It [the wedding] was in Venice, which was a really special place to us, our place where we did our first holiday together, and I love Venice.”

Samantha Jade added that the floating city held a special connection to her late mum, Jacqueline, who passed in 2014 after a short battle with cancer.

“It was a very special city to us and my mum passed away just before ei met Pat so she loved Venice, she always wanted to go there. So when we went there for the first time, we dropped these crystals that my mum had given me when she was sick, into the water there and it was all these beautiful things about Venice.”

The singer said that she and Pat simply found a small area outside where they exchanged vows.

“We had an Italian celebrant and he was so lovely and it was just a very short but sweet ceremony.

“Guy and Jules were like our witnesses and they were so sweet and they’ve been married for like 14 years or something, they gave us some good marriage advice.”

Sammy added that her, Pat, Guy, and Jules headed to a nearby restaurant afterward to celebrate their nuptials.

“We actually had a restaurant booked that we’d gone to the first time we were there. A few days before we were in Paris and were like ‘where should we go after we do the ceremony?’ and we were like, “oh let’s just go to that place”, and booked it in. It was really really chilled it wasn’t anything crazy and that’s how we wanted it to be.”
