Gold Logie winning actor and charity founder Samuel Johnson is recovering in hospital after being hit by a car.
According to his sister Hilde Hilton, Johnson is now awake but still recovering from the incident which occurred on Saturday night.
“I wish I didn’t have to tell you this,” Hinton wrote via a post on the Love Your Sister charity Facebook page.
“Early Saturday night Sam was on his way to visit family when he was accidentally hit by a car. Our Ambos got him picked up and tucked away safely in hospital in record time. I followed them in.”
She continued: “The fantastical medical staff are in overdrive taking care of his sore head. He’s awake and not too happy that he doesn’t have his pants – nobody loves a hospital gown. Hearing his voice is lovely, but can’t wait for hugs when it’s safe.”
“I’ll keep you updated,” she concluded.
The 43-year-old actor, best known for his roles on TV shows like The Secret Life of Us and Rush, won a Gold Logie in 2017 after portraying Molly Meldrum in the mini-series Molly.

On top of his acting career, Johnson is also known for launching Love Your Sister alongside his now-deceased sister Connie. The charity has raised over $13 million for cancer research since its creation in 2012.
While Johnson announced his retirement from acting in 2016 to focus on fundraising, he recently appeared in a supporting role on the new Stan series Eden.
