It’s been 25 years since Steven Spielberg’s confronting and wonderfully made Schindler’s List came out in cinemas.

The film, which has had a profound effect on millions of people, is regarded as one of the most significant endeavors in the history of cinema, following the true story of WWII businessman Oskar Schiendler hiring Jewish workers in his Polish factory, saving them from the concentration camps in the process.

Now, Universal Pictures have confirmed that the classic will be re-released with a digital and audio remaster, including in 4k cinema.

4k cinema essentially means the picture on  screen contains an incredible 4096 × 2160 pixels (or tiny dots), giving a whole new perspective of a young Liam Neeson.

That’s over 8 megapixels, or four times the number of pixels on your Full HD TV at home-meaning you can re-live scenes like the one below in clarity unlike anything seen before.

“It is difficult to believe that it’s been 25 years since Schindler’s List first arrived in theaters,” said Spielberg.

“The true stories of the magnitude and tragedy of the Holocaust are ones that must never be forgotten, and the film’s lessons about the critical importance of countering hatred continue to reverberate today.  I am honored that audiences will be able to experience the journey once again on the big screen.”

In addition to being updated for the re-screening, a new trailer has also be released, along with a re-issue of John William’s (Grammy winning) iconic score on La La Land Records.
