Tributes have poured in for Seinfeld star Liz Sheridan, who died at the age of 93, just two weeks after the death of co-star, Estelle Harris.

Sheridan, who played Jerry’s mother Helen Seinfeld in the hugely popular sitcom, reportedly died in her sleep from natural causes on Friday, five days after her April 10 birthday, according to her long-time representative and friend Amanda Hendon.

While she was best known for her role in the iconic comedy series, Sheridan also had a lengthy career that saw her appear on Broadway in plays and musicals, including Happy End with Meryl Streep.

Sheridan also starred in the 1987 film Who’s That Girl with Madonna and the 2009 rom-com Play the Game, opposite late actors Andy Griffith and Doris Roberts.

“She was always very grateful to her fans and felt blessed to have enjoyed decades of work in the entertainment business,” including performing in her one-woman show, Mrs Seinfeld Sings, Hendon said in a statement.

Jerry Seinfeld led the tributes on social media to the esteemed actress, saying, “Liz was always the sweetest, nicest TV mom a son could wish for. Every time she came on our show it was the coziest feeling for me. So lucky to have known her.”

Apart from the four lead cast members of Seinfeld — Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards — Sheridan was apparently the only cast member to appear in every season of the sitcom.

Sheridan is survived by a daughter and son-in-law.

The sad news comes following the recent death of Seinfeld star Estelle Harris at the age of 93. She was best known as George Costanza’s mother, Estelle.
