Kristin Davis, the American actress known for playing the role of Charlotte on Sex And The City,is headingour way for the launch of 2016Queer Thinking.

Since filming for the television show ended, Davis has become an advocate for human rights through her charity work. This has led to her becoming an ambassador for Oxfam as well asaUnited Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) High Profile Supporter. Last year, this role took her to theDemocratic Republic of Congo and Uganda where she visited a number of refugee camps.

Davis will appear in conversation withNaomi Steer, the National Director ofAustralia for UNHCR, atCarriageworks. The pair willdiscuss UNHCR’s work preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence.In light of the high levels of such violence worldwide, andthe growing number of asylum claims based on gender or sexual orientation,the appearance couldn’t be more timely.

Queer Thinking runs concurrently with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival, Wednesday February 10 – Monday March 21, with over 18 panels, discussions and workshops celebrating diversity and community.
