Shure, the music tech brand used by everyone from Elvis, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Aretha Franklin, have just released a new set of headphones. They’re noise cancelling… so you can block out all the Karens of the world.
Shure’s new AONIC 50 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones are the first wireless offering from Shure. Ergonomically designed with studio-quality sound, the AONICs fold flat for portability so you can easily whip them out on the train when a certain someone starts talking about how the BLM protests caused the second wave of COVID.

“The AONIC 50 feature adjustable noise cancellation to block out unwanted noise for a truly immersive experience with the flip of a switch,” says Shure. “Listeners who want to interact with the world around them can activate Environment Mode to hear immediate surroundings and personalise their noise cancellation and Environment Mode levels by pairing with the free ShurePlus™ PLAY App.”
The PLAY app is available for iOS and Android, and as a full-featured music player with EQ, it supports standard and hi-res music files. The app also lets you customise tone and voice prompts for important notifications, like power on/off, connection confirmation and low battery, and can also be used to upgrade firmware.
Speaking of battery, these babies have 20 hours of battery life on a single charge, that’s practically a week of listening enjoyment without needing to recharge. The headphones can also connect to wired sources with a 3.5mm analog audio input to ensure an uninterrupted connection to any device.
