Australia’s first Taco Bell — well, since unsuccessful launch attempts in the ’80s and again in the late ’90s — opened in QLD last November, and it’s clearly a success, as parent company Collins have now announced big plans to expand and open numerous restaurants this financial year.

“We are pleased with the acceptance of the Taco Bell brand by Australian consumers”, the company announced.

“We have entered an exciting new phase with the successful launch of our first Taco Bell restaurant, with further restaurants to follow over the next 12 months.”

Controversially, they will also be rebranding the few remaining Sizzler restaurants as Taco Bells, a move sure to rankle fast food purists.
