In what comes as delightful news to lovers of chips, Smith’s are bringing back some of their most popular flavours, including Sausage Sizzle.
As part of their limited edition ‘Bring Backs’ range, Smith’s will once again be slinging classic flavours like Sausage Sizzle, Crispy Bacon, Tasty Cheese, Garlic Bread and Loaded Baked Potato.
The introduction of the ‘Bring Backs’ range was inspired by Smith’s upcoming 90th birthday.
As hard as it is to believe, Smith’s began way back in 1931 with Frank Smith and George Ensor. The pair started by making chips in 20 gas-fired cooking pots, before packing them by hand along with a sachet of salt.
It was 30 years later that Smith’s released the first flavoured chip in Aussie history by selling a Chicken flavour.
In a statement, Smith’s Brand Manager Kimberly Pettet revealed that the new range is a “tribute” to Smith’s fans.
“There is so much to celebrate this year with Smith’s 90th birthday – our Aussie heritage, our farmers, our customers and of course, our fans,” she said.
“We know how much Smith’s fans love our Limited-Edition flavours, so this special ‘Bring Backs’ range is our tribute to them.”
Those who are looking to get their hands on specific flavours will have to pay close attention to where they shop, as some of the range is only available at certain retailers.
While the Crispy Bacon and Tasty Cheese flavours are available at all major retails, Sausage Sizzle can be found at Coles only.
Meanwhile, Garlic Bread will be sold at Woolworths only and Loaded Back Potato just at IGA and independent retailers.
