Keith Urban recently said he would be stepping away from judging on The Voice Australia and his replacement is a big international star.

The Australian country music singer, Keith Urban, will officially be stepping away from The Voice Australia. Seven has confirmed that his replacement will be a major international star that will serve as a judge for The Voice Australia 2023.

During the Seven Upfronts event, The Voice host Sonia Kruger confirmed that a big international name is in the works to join the line-up. The new judge will sit alongside Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy, and Guy Sebastion on the panel.

Keith Urban, who is stepping down, said he did so in order to spend more time with his family, and hopes he can come back some day when his schedule dies down.

“I feel very close to everybody on the set, and hopefully, the door can stay open because I would jump back in a heartbeat,” Keith told The Daily Telegraph on October 8.

He added: “Much like The Voice in America, ‘ x’ amount of coaches come and go depending [on] their schedules. I would love to hope that The Voice might afford me that opportunity as well.”

“I actually don’t think of it as the end of a chapter at all because I love doing the show,’ he told The Sunday Telegraph earlier this month.”

“I love the fact that those last two seasons happened and were able to happen for me because I had a blast doing it.”

While Sonia didn’t give a name she did mention that they are a Grammy winner, and there are several likely candidates. The Voice alums Alicia Keys, Bebe Rexha, Gwen Stefani, and Christina Aguilera have all been named as potential replacements.

Whoever is replacing Keith Urban, we likely won’t find out for some time.
