Lego has announced a brand new ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ set perfect for Sega fans, and you can buy it for yourself in just a few days.
While Nintendo fans have been blessed by the Danish brick masters for some time now – including a number of Super Mario sets and a whole NES console – Sega fans have been shit out of luck. That’s all about to change, however after news via Polygon that the beloved blue blur is about to hit store shelves.
Based on the franchise’s best-known level, the ‘Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone’ Lego set appears to be doing its best to honour the aesthetic Sega fans surely expect. There’s a lever-activated spring for big jumps, a classic vertical loop and golden rings/Chaos Emeralds to litter around. The latter can even be displayed on a separate stand.
You can check out the ‘Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone’ Lego set below:
That’s not all though, with minifigures not just of Sonic, but Dr. Eggman and Eggmobile as well. All-in-all there will be a respectable 1125 pieces to put together, with the completed product measuring in at around 17cm x 36 cm x 6cm. Perfect for a display shelf, if you ask us.
The upcoming set is a result of the Lego Ideas program – which granted fans the opportunity to submit ideas for potential future designs. This Sonic design was submitted by Viv Grannell and was confirmed to go into production all the way back in February 2021.
Almost a year later you’ll be able to grab one for yourself for a tidy sum of $119.99. Orders are set to open via the Lego store on January 1, 2022, but we can imagine it’ll be high demand so if you want one… you gotta go fast.
