Iconic, long-time news personality and talk show host, Larry King, has sadly passed away at age of 87. The family, Larry King, Jr., Chance King, and Cannon King, have released a heartbreaking statement in regards to their father’s death.
Though the official statement doesn’t give a cause of death, shortly before Christmas, King was hospitalised after testing positive for Coronavirus and a statement was posted on his official Facebook page last night.
The touching tribute that King’s three sons wrote reads: “We are heartbroken over our father’s death, and together with our extended family mourn his passing. The world knew Larry King as a great broadcaster and interviewer, but to us he was ‘dad.’
“He was the man who lovingly obsessed over our daily schedules and our well-being, and who took such immense pride in our accomplishments — large, small, or imagined.
“And, through it all, we knew without a doubt in the world that he loved us more than life itself. He was an amazing father, and he was fiercely loyal to those lucky enough to call him a friend. We will miss him every single day of our lives.
“The outpouring of love and the remembrances of his remarkable career have touched us deeply and we are so thankful. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask consideration of a donation to the American Heart Association or the Beverly Hills Fire Department EMS, to which a debt of gratitude is owed for the wonderful care they provided to our dad in his final years.

Dubbed ‘the king of talk’, King’s career spanned 63 years as a reporter, working across radio, television and digital media, most notably hosting Larry King Live for CNN. Some of his most iconic interview subjects included Frank Sinatra, Bill Clinton and The Beatles.
The first statement, announcing his death, which was posted last night, read, “With profound sadness, Ora Media announces the death of our co-founder, host, and friend Larry King, who passed away this morning at age 87 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.”
Tributes have flooded in from celebrities mourning the reporter’s death.
Prince’s official Twitter page posted a statement reading; “Prince rarely granted televised interviews, especially those that were broadcast live. But on December 10, 1999, Prince (known then only by his symbol) joined Larry King live on CNN to speak at length about his life in music.”
Goldie Hawn also grieved his passing, writing; “The real deal, no bull, no lies, lots of laughs and the best interviewer and friend anyone could ever want. So long dear one. You are so loved @kingsthings“.
